Weir Arabian Metals Company (Weir Amco) is an engineering and general machining joint venture of the Saudi-based Olayan Group and UK-based Weir Group. In June 2005, the Company was converted into this JV in order to further strengthen the over 27 years of local manufacturing capabilities in the Kingdom and bring home world-class technology.
The Company operates on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis and has an excellent reputation for quality and service. Weir Amco repairs, upgrades,re-rates, commissions, and condition monitoring all kinds of rotating equipment, such as Centrifugal Pumps, Blowers, Compressors and Turbines etc. It also re-engineers and manufactures related static parts and components such as bearing housings, impellers, diffusers, casings, columns, bowls and manifolds.
Weir Amco is also a prime vendor and service provider to the Oil & Gas industry that manufactures, repairs, and recertifies a large range of Oilfield products in accordance with applicable international standards. The Company currently holds 6 API licenses and 10 Authorized Repair Facility (ARF) accreditations, which are maintained through periodic audits. The company is one of the largest facilities in Saudi Arabia for the repair and manufacture of oil field tubular equipment and tubular accessories. It employs the most experienced specialists in the manufacture and repair of oil drilling and production equipment.
Valve & Wellhead
Weir Arabian Metals Company was the first facility in the Middle East to earn API-certification in valve and wellhead manufacturing. AMCO offers high-quality valves, wellhead components and certified replacement parts at competitive prices.
Managed by expert engineers and equipped with the latest equipment, the company's machining division assures its demanding customers premium quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness. The division operates a wide variety of CNC machines for turning and grinding ball valves, backed by an extensive range of manual machines. It also offers comprehensive welding, fabrication, heat treatment and coating and overlay processes.
Weir Arabian Metals Company not only is capable of manufacturing small parts with a high degree of precision, but also can repair and fabricate components up to 15 tons.
The company has service contracts with Saudi Aramco, Aramco for Gulf Operations (Khafji) and several drilling support companies. These organizations rely on the availability of AMCO engineering and heavy machining services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Weir Arabian Metals Company holds license agreements with several international companies for tubular repair. These include Vallourec, Hydril, Nippon Steel, Tenaris Grant Prideco, Baker Inteq, Hunting International and Shaffer.
In addition, the company is the approved facility for wellhead equipment repair for Cameron Saudi Arabia, FMC and Wood Group International. It is the only authorized repair facility in the Kingdom for Hydril, Shaffer, Denco and WOM equipment.
As part of its long-term strategy to achieve growth and diversification, the company has recently more than doubled its size and now operates two adjacent sites with a combined area of 35,000 square meters.
