Mondelez Arabia (MONDELEZ)
In partnership with the Olayan and Gosaibi groups, Mondelez International set up Mondelez Arabia to strengthen its snacking portfolio in KSA, and react more quickly to consumer tastes and demands.
Khaled S. Olayan, Chairman, The Olayan Group, added: “We are very pleased to join forces with Mondelez International once again to strengthen the position of their brands and products that we first began supporting more than 50 years ago when we undertook the distribution of products of General Foods (later Kraft Foods). During those 50+ years we have built a strategic partnership with Kraft Foods (now Mondelez International) that has seen us shape the taste of the Saudi consumer to the full array of its products” Mondelez International and its predecessors have been operating in KSA for more than a century, ever since Kraft Foods sold its first canned cheese in KSA in 1912.
Today in KSA, Mondelez International-through subsidiary Nabisco Arabia-operates one of the largest internationally owned food and beverage plants in the Middle East, producing Oreo, Belvita, Ritz and Prince biscuits. The plant, in which KSA’s Olayan Group also has a share, is located in Dammam in KSA’s Eastern Province.
